  • The National Pelargonium Greenhouse and Conservatory
The glass domes of the municipal greenhouse house a collection of over 1000 species of geraniums and its cousin, the pelargonium. This important award-winning botanical depository is responsible for the creation of hundreds of new floral hybrids each year.
  • Lunch in the Marshlands or in the Old Town.
  • "Les Marais de Bourges"
The Bourges marshlands, a "haven of green". In the year 52 BC the marshes stopped the advance of Jules Caesar's invading army. Today these 135 hectares of wetlands offer a moment of calm and tranquility in the midst of the bustling town. Stroll down paths among the canals and waterways, admiring the gardeners' plots and the spectacular views of the cathedral, a mere stone's throw away !
  • Saint-Etienne Cathedral : visit of the Cathedral of Saint Etienne, presentation of its history, architecture, and splendid stained glass windows.
  • The Archbishop's Garden : With its unsurpassed view of the Cathedral, the garden is the living testimony of a grandiose project envisioned by the 17th century Archbishop de La Vrillière. Today this popular meeting point for the people of Bourges boasts a Classical garden of colourful flower beds and box-wood hedges, and a shady English landscape area, theatre for music and dancing on summer evenings.
